.34 Release - What's new in Automation 360

Announcing Automation 360™ v.34: First-to-market innovations to unlock new productivity gains

We continue to marvel at AI's incredible possibilities, which makes us even more excited to share with you some highlights of the latest release of our AI-powered automation platform, Automation 360™ v.34.

This release underscores our innovations with first-to-market capabilities that enable you to automate more processes, unlock new productivity gains, and build automations even faster. We continue to invest in our industry-leading automation platform so you get the latest updates to the Automation Anywhere platform and incredible returns on your investments quickly, securely, and efficiently.

In this post, we’ll review five of the most exciting AI-powered innovations in Automation 360™ v.34, with a few bonus ones thrown in for good measure. But there are so many more updates, tweaks, and enhancements in v.34 that you can explore via these other channels:

OK, here we go!

#1 - Create automations faster with Autopilot BPMN support

In the recent v.33 release, we announced Autopilot, which lets you use generative AI to quickly transform process maps into automations to accelerate the automation lifecycle from months to days and deliver ROI faster.

Your automation lifecycle gets even faster in v.34 by importing your existing business process model and notation (BPMN) documents and using Autopilot to create outlines of processes and tasks automatically. This includes structure and logic to drive faster time-to-development and uncover more value from existing BPM tools and BPMN outputs.

Note that this feature is only available to cloud customers and requires the Automator AI Platform Base license.

#2 - Use third-party RAG in AI Agent Studio for grounded automations

Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) helps generative AI models create more meaningful outputs and mitigate hallucinations by using your company data to augment LLMs. Thanks to our open architecture, you can now use the RAG functionality of AWS Knowledge Base and Google Vertex AI Data Stores when building AI Skill templates.

RAG makes AI Agents smarter so they can automate more of your key business processes like auditing sales tax in vendor invoices. AI Agents can retrieve sales tax and invoice data, review invoices from each vendor, calculate the expected sales tax, and compare that with the actual invoiced sales tax. AI Agents can then generate a report of the findings and route it to the correct personnel for review and further action, saving hours of time per transaction.

What RAG helps AI Agents deliver is:

  • Higher productivity and efficiency, with less time spent on tedious data entry and manual data analyses.
  • Faster identification of anomalies, opportunities, and risks based on your actual data.
  • Higher return on automation by automating more complex business processes that require your data.

#3 - Execute AI Agents faster with AI Skills support now in API Tasks

AI Agent Studio gets even better in v.34 with the ability to execute AI Skills in API Tasks. You get our most modern task execution infrastructure in API Tasks and faster execution of AI Agents using AI Skills. This reduces the cost and improves the performance of automations while letting you integrate with generative AI models in a scalable, safe, and governed manner.

Note that this feature is only available to cloud customers and requires the Enterprise Platform license.

#4 - Ensure responsible use of AI with expanded analytics, governance, and data sovereignty features

AI compliance and risk management are top of mind for CISOs and infosec teams, so we’ve added new governance features in v.34 to help you monitor and promote responsible and compliant use of AI from a single place. Highlights include:

  • Code analysis enhancements allow you to monitor and enforce your AI use policy with user notifications for immediate remediation before check-in and visibility into violations in previously developed automations.
  • New AI dashboards provide complete visibility on usage to compliance and infosec teams so you can accelerate AI and automation adoption while ensuring proper governance and responsible AI deployments.
  • AI analytics provide real-time data and visual insights to contain and remediate any incidents quickly and streamline risk management.

Note that these features are only available to cloud customers and require the Enterprise Platform license.

This latest release also adds capabilities to help you better meet regional compliance requirements with new data sovereignty options for Document Automation. Our customers love how Document Automation uses generative AI to process documents at scale accurately, but extending workflows across international jurisdictions can add to the complexity of AI-powered document processing.

With v.34, you can select specific regions for generative AI services to ensure compliance with local data sovereignty rules and regulations. Beyond just U.S. and E.U. regions, you now have more flexibility and control to specify Australia, Canada, Japan, and India for generative AI data storage and processing.

#5 - More speed, more ease-of-use, more insights

In v.34, you can directly schedule process automations in less time and with less effort using new “process first” capabilities. This eliminates the need to create shell bots for scheduling and creates a more intuitive, user-friendly interface that lets you focus on driving value, adoption, and productivity through automation.

Also new in v.34 are real-time dashboards in CoE Manager showing the real-time savings realized through API tasks. This is a one-click way to see the time and cost benefits of automation, which you can then easily share with your organization.

To help ease scalability for your automation programs by accelerating bot updates by up to 90%, v.34 adds an “update all bots” capability to ensure all bots across the enterprise are on the latest A360 package version, including custom packages. Note that we will deliver this feature in a planned v.34 update.

Finally, one for the developers: v.34 now supports object-based automation of modern web application (e.g., ServiceNow, Salesforce) components that use the ShadowDOM standard. Universal Recorder-powered automation provides a streamlined user experience and minimizes the risk of automation failures in such applications. Newly introduced CSS selectors will also improve the reliability of all types of web-based automation.
